  99. The installation procedure for Doghouse is quite simple.  The
  100. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  101. entire process.  You will need about 315K of available disk space
  102. on the hard drive on which you plan to install Doghouse.

  104. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  105. Doghouse.
  106.

  108. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  109.  
  110. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  111.  
  112.    o  Place Doghouse distribution diskette in the appropriate
  113.       diskette drive.
  114.  
  115.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  116.       For example, from Windows 3.1+ Program Manager, select
  117.       File | Run | A:\INSTALL (Windows 95: Start | Run | A:\INSTALL)
  118.  
  119.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  120.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  121.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  122.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  123.       the Doghouse files to that directory.  Doghouse installation will
  124.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys,
  125.       win.ini or any other initialisation files.

  127. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  128.  
  129. If you downloaded Doghouse from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  130. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  131. following steps.
  132.  
  133.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  134.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  135.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  136.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  137.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  138.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  139.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  140.       the package.

  142.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  143.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  144.       the Doghouse is C:\TEMP then from Program Manager, select File |
  145.       Run | C:\TEMP\INSTALL

  147.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  148.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  149.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  150.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy

  152.       installation program will install executable programs and
  153.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  154.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your win.ini,

  157. When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
  158. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed Doghouse
  159. (C:\TEMP, in the above discussion), including all its contents.

  165. Icon in the group on the desktop, and select the "I'm new!" buttons. The
